A Shift In Expectations – The World Post COVID-19 https://www.premiersupportservices.co.uk/expectations-post-covid-19/ Thu, 23 Apr 2020 14:48:43 +0000 http://www.premiersupportservices.co.uk/?p=2026 The post A Shift In Expectations – The World Post COVID-19 appeared first on Premier Support Services Limited.

Many among us are already tired of the constant reminder to wash our hands, but this is just the beginning of a shift in expectations and standards.

It goes without saying that we are all looking forward to returning to normality, but we are curious how this global pandemic will shape our post-lockdown world.

Expectations in a post COVID-19 world will be very different. The overall cleanliness of both public and private property will be at the forefront of people’s concern. Perhaps the HSE may even re-visit their cleaning industry standards?

The methodology and frequency of cleaning and disinfection will become hugely important, both for business owners and employees, as people’s expectations & awareness will be vastly altered.

Travel & cleanliness expectations will usher a new lifestyle built around heightened awareness of hygiene and sanitisation. UK businesses will be forced to reconsider cleaning schedules, and readjust the ‘norm’ to maintain the spike in expectations to come.

Business Contingency

You may be thinking about this as a business during lockdown, provisioning for when you can open your doors again – but are you ready? Are you prepared for the new world?

As a company that provides commercial and industrial cleaning services, these practices are not new to us. We have been implementing these measures for many years and will continue to do so.

We must be more aware of the difference between cleaning and disinfecting. While cleaning removes visible dirt, disinfecting uses chemical products to remove germs, meaning a more effective solution to combatting COVID-19.

As the UK business owners prepare their workplaces for re-opening, they explore additional services such as sanitisation fogging, or a plan a shift in cleaning specifications with more emphasis on sanitising high touch areas and surfaces like door handles, light switches, kitchen workspaces, taps, handles to name a few.

Hydrogen Peroxide Fogging – Workplace COVID-19 Sanitisation

Sanitization Fogging

We can sanitise and decontaminate your workplace of 99.999% bacteria to help protect your workplace and employees from Coronavirus (COVID-19) using one of the most effective forms of decontamination, used in healthcare, education, food preparation and biomedical sectors to name just a few.

Ionised Hydrogen Peroxide Fogging Technology is applicable for airborne and surface contamination control and unlike some other alternatives, we use a “dry mist” solution. This means fabrics and electrical equipment including computers are completely safe to be left in-situ while the fogging takes place.

  • Our decontamination process is proven to reliably kill 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, yeasts and fungi
  • No known microbiological resistance (2-phase product); depot effect (inhibits recontamination with germs)
  • Without scents and colorants; environmentally friendly (disintegrates 100% into water and oxygen = evaporation)
  • Used Globally
  • Ecologically Friendly

Our solution enables facilities to combat and prevent outbreaks of healthcare-associated infections.

Sanitiser Disinfectant Graph

Sanitiser Disinfectant Graph

Premier Support Services disinfectant harnesses the true, oxidising power of hydrogen peroxide by infusing it with patented oligodynamic (anti-microbial activity of minute quantities of metallic ions) technology.

During this intricate process the hydrogen peroxide is stabalised and boosted with silver ions. The result is a radical fluid architecture that is capable of destroying a broad spectrum of micro-organisms including pathogenic bacteria, viruses, yeast fungi and protozoa

MORE than just hydrogen peroxide

Our disinfectant formula contains hydrogen peroxide, which, in conjunction with other proprietary raw materials, is converted into an entirely new material.

While basic hydrogen peroxide has limited killing mechanisms, efficacy and stability; our disinfectant is a multi-mechanistic, extremely stable, broad-spectrum product.

Our disinfectant out-performs other common disinfectants

This formula is one of the most effective solutions available to protect your business and employees from virus outbreaks. Importantly and unlike chlorine-based products, our disinfectant will not damage the fabric of the building over a period of time.

We can;

  • Deploy specialist teams to decontaminate a wide range of premises, from laboratories & hospital wards to schools & offices in a fast & timely manner
  • Safely decontaminate rooms or departments in working environments without disrupting adjoining work area
  • Can work at multiple locations within a site — thus speeding up total downtime decontaminate hard-to-reach areas, leave no residues or waste; safe on electrical equipment and fabrics.

Outsourcing Facilities Services

The Importance of Facilities Management

It is the duty of building owners or occupiers to ensure that their facilities are well managed, maintained and secure at all times.

Poor standards of facilities maintenance will not only lead to an inevitable deterioration of buildings but can also compromise safety standards, increasing the risk of accidents and potentially prosecution if legal health & safety requirements are not met.

Well-maintained properties are easier to manage and can be more cost effective for business operations. Both soft (cleaning, security, grounds maintenance) and hard services (structural maintenance, heating & ventilation) must be maintained to ensure the property is suitable and safe for people to use.

Read about the difference between soft and hard facilities management here.

Usually, poor and ineffective maintenance costs more money. It is more expensive to make urgent repairs than to take early preventive action. For example water leaks can be fixed if dealt with in the first instance, otherwise can lead to extensive damage and damp problems, costing more to repair in the long term.

Benefits of Outsourcing Total Facilities Management

What is Facilities Management? – Hard FM vs Soft FM https://www.premiersupportservices.co.uk/facilities-management-explained/ Fri, 18 Oct 2019 08:23:45 +0000 http://www.premiersupportservices.co.uk/?p=1815 The post What is Facilities Management? – Hard FM vs Soft FM appeared first on Premier Support Services Limited.

Facilities Management Explained

“An organisational function which integrates people, place and process within the built environment with the purpose of improving the quality of life of people and the productivity of the core business.”

The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) ISO 41011:2017

Facilities Management Explained

Quite simply facilities management is the management and maintenance of commercial buildings, encompassing everything required to keep people alive and safe.

It can include everything from building maintenance to catering and vending services.

Facilities Management (FM) is split into two areas: Hard FM and Soft FM.

Hard FM refers to physical structures like plumbing and air conditioning, whereas Soft FM refers to elements managed by people, like cleaning & security.

Both elements combined are very important to ensure your building is running as smoothly as possible!

Total Facilities Management Overview

Soft FM

Why is Facilities Management So Important?

As with many services, FM tends to go unnoticed until something goes wrong! Given the wide range of services included in facilities management, the decision to outsource these services to one dedicated service provider will relieve a facilities manager of all the challenges that come along with maintaining a building.

Believe it or not, maintenance and operations consumes 70 percent of the total cost of ownership for a facility.

Facilities Management can:

  • Reduce costs and optimise investments
  • Improve operational utilisation, availability and flexibility
  • Address environmental standards and concerns
  • Maintain regulatory compliance
  • Enhance safety and reduce risk
  • Provide engaging, productive environments

We believe that Total Facilities Management will reduce the amount of time and effort spent on maintaining your premises. Using one service provider will greatly reduce time spent dealing with an array of companies. It will also reduce the number of invoices received from the individual companies. We provide you with a one consolidated invoice that lists all the services carried out over the financial period.

Premier Support Services will provide you with one point of contact to manage your account who will be supported by our 24 hour help desk team. Find out more about our team here.

The Customer

The Salvation Army are a Christian denominational church and international charitable organisation present in 127 countries. The Salvation Army run charity shops, operate shelters for the homeless, provide personal hygiene relief and humanitarian aid to developing countries.

The Challenge

The Salvation Army required a complete building refurbishment & extension in Harpenden to create a fantastic multi-use community centre.

As they operate as a non-profit organisation, efficiencies were key to ensure budgets were adhered to.

From design, to procurement, to construction Premier Support Services worked very closely with our clients to ensure we could Make a Difference.

The Result

We began with a partial demolition of the existing hall and a number of structural alterations to the internal & external facade, including construction and installation of  beam & block flooring.

Inside the building, partitions were built to break the space up into a worship hall, fully equipped commercial kitchen, toilets and 3 multi-use halls.

We removed all existing mechanical & electrical components and installed a new twin boiler heating system, bespoke toilet solution and new drainage system.

We designed & installed all new electrical features including LED lighting, feature lighting and emergency lighting.

A new curved entrance lobby was constructed, with a wrap around glass frontage to optimise natural lighting.

To cater to the clients requirements, we installed DDA approved disabled access & facilities, including a platform lift, compliant handrails & ramps, plus a toilet complete with wet room and shower.

The property was fully renovated to give a modern and contemporary face-lift. This was achieved by external landscaping and decorative retaining sleeper walls.

The rear car park was resurfaced to include new gradients & a new kerb layout that was in-keeping with the new landscaping.

Special Features

  • Stunning double glazed stain glass window in the brand new worship hall that was designed by one of the local children in a competition
  • Custom cast iron box gutter that had to be very carefully installed
  • Colour coordinated UPVC glazing throughout the whole building
  • Paxton access control system for optimum security
  • Automated Velux windows to take advantage of the natural light

We decided to take these ‘unwritten values’ and share them with each of our employees at an exciting event held at Aston Villa FC (much to the dismay of the non Villa supporters!!)

Each of our 4 Core Values were expressed through a various mix of activities throughout the day designed to inspire our Premier People to be the best we can possibly be.
